Subject: Amos 3,7 – "Surely the LORD God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets."

I would like to read two Words before the prayer, one from the Old Testament, the other from the New Testament, from Isaiah 54 verse 15.

"Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD!" [Isa 54.15-17]

From Hebrews chapter 2 of verse 14:

"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to help them that are tempted." [Heb 2.14-18]

Let us stand up and worship.

Heavenly Father, we come consciously before your throne of grace to lay this service before you, to consecrate ourselves to you, to ask you for mercy to speak, grace to hear, grace to follow the leading and guidance of your Spirit. Come to your right, be the one speaking and the one working in our midst today. Almighty God, you who have ways and means to direct the hearts like rivers of water, we ask you: Do it today!

Then we have petitions, O God, of severe kind, for our brothers and sisters who have been afflicted by various trials of various kinds, in soul, in spirit, in body.

Lord, you know who we mean. You know who they are and where they live. Together we ask you now that you stretch forth thine arm, that you do not let anyone be put to shame who puts his trust in you. And those who can no longer do it, for them we now intercede, and pray for them, to pull them away from Satan and out of darkness and to present them before you!

Thou, O Lord, hast defeated Satan, hast bruised the serpent's head, hast led the captives free. Yes, you have taken captivity captive, you have delivered us completely. We thank thee for this from our hearts. Faithful Saviour, have thine own way with us. Make us now still in thy holy presence, that thy Word which is quick and powerfully could penetrate our hearts.

Take from us, O Lord, everyday life with all its sorrows and worries, and be gracious to us for your name's sake. We pray for all who are here and for all who could not come. Faithful God, give us this day a new courage to look up to you. Strengthen, establish, settle, give new courage and confidence. Where revelation is lacking, give it, save the lost, heal the sick, set the captives free. Glorify your name and confirm your Word. May it happen today under the preaching that people are united with you, come to fellowship with you, are revived and strengthened. We trust in you, the almighty God, we thank you, for you will make all things come to pass. Praised and glorified be thy holy name. Hallelujah! Amen! Amen.

You may sit down.

This has now reminded me of our beloved brother Laumer, who is already with the Lord. And they are such precious memories that we have from all these years, common experiences with God, shared Word observations. Together we are allowed by grace to look into the secret thoughts of our God.

I will speak today on the subject: "God has sent prophets to fulfil a certain purpose". We will go into this very briefly and read some scriptures about it. I begin with Amos chapter 3, the well-known Word, and hope that today's observation will overwhelm even the last one in our midst and that the last one will get clarity from the Word of God and gives up all inner resistance and embrace what God has done, saying "yes", going along, namely from clarity to clarity and from knowledge to knowledge.

We begin with Amos 3, verses 6 to 8:

"Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?" [Am 3.6-8]

A well-known Word that Brother Branham often used to illuminate his sending, for which he could do nothing, to which he had contributed nothing, from the Scriptures and to show us that whenever God planned special things on earth, he sent a prophet to give to the people the opportunity to decide. The possibility of believing God and thus passing justified from time into eternity.

Let's go straight to Genesis. Genesis, chapter 9, perhaps to the last verses of chapter 8. It states:

"And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar." [Gn 8.20]

I would also like to read from chapter 6, verse 22 in this connection:

"Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he." [Gn 6.22]

Men of God did not have plans of their own, they became a part of God's plan in their time. They have been shown by divine revelation, by inspiration of the Spirit, by visions from God, they have been shown by God what it is all about.

The Flood could not come unless God, through a prophet, sent a warning, a final warning to mankind so that they would have no excuse later on.

Listen, every time God made history in the plan of salvation on earth, he has sent one of his servants and prophets, one of his representatives here on earth, to make his Word known here on earth. We are all familiar with the calling of Abraham. He was a prophet. In Genesis 18, verse 17 it says:

"And the LORD said, »Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I intent to do?«" [Gn 18.17]

God could not do it, because Abraham was a prophet, He had to come to the prophet to reveal the secret that it was actually about.

Let us go on to Moses. When the time of fulfilment came that God was going to deliver Israel, He appeared to Moses in the burning bush - Exodus chapter 3. You can all read it in full, I'm reading here from verse 5:

"And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God." [Ex 3.5-6]

The Lord was up to something. He might have been able to do it himself, but from the very beginning he has taken people to work with him. And Paul writes to the Corinthians:

"As co-workers with Christ, we admonish you as stewards of the manifolds mercies of God." [1Cor 4.1]

God has included people, people through whom He could speak, through whom He could work, people who left a living testimony, people on whom God could rely.

I read further on – from Exodus the 20th chapter when the Lord gave the law. And spoke with his people who were involved, and to whom he made known his Word and his will on the mountain. The Lord seeks people to whom he can speak, people who will receive his Word, take it seriously and then by grace do according to it. I am looking for a Word from the Holy Scripture, namely from Exodus chapter 12. Here we find the term "church" for the first time. Verse 3:

"Speak ye unto all the congregation (church) of Israel…" [Ex 12.3]

Then come the instructions. Now we come to a point I want to emphasise today - the care of God for the sake of His people. God cares. There's a sermon of Brother Branham, "God cares. Do you care?" God cares. I'm reading here from Exodus 12, verse 37:

"And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children." [Ex 12.37]

I want to show you from the Word of God: As soon as the Lord begins to work, and sends a prophet, He takes care for food and drink, then He cares for all his people, whom he has called out. You may probably ask, "What shall now come?" What is to come is this: That God took care for such a multitude daily for 40 years. There was no need for a truck to drive up. No groceries needed to be delivered. I looked it up, some clever men calculated that to feed this crowd would have been needed 250 trucks daily. 600,000 men, not counting all the women and all the children! We can hardly manage with one and half million. Consider this, you housewives what commissions you make and bring home for two or three people! Such a multitude, in the middle of the desert! The almighty God opened the windows of heaven and fed daily his people, such a multitude.

What do we learn from this? That God has taken the responsibility for us, provided we hear his call, and are led out, then God gives manna to his people! He looks after us.

Here the thought came to me: What has God given to us over the years on Word, in hidden manna by grace! What has not happened in any other age is now happening under the prophetic message: Fresh, living manna, daily revealed by God, which God has prepared for His people.

So, we learn from this to appreciate God's faithfulness to his people. He does not leave us alone – when food was needed, he sent it to them, when drink was needed he split a rock. And if you read in 1. Corinthians 10, you will find out, that the rock that accompanied Israel was Christ Himself [1Cor 10:4]. He did not only care, He was present, He provided.

I believe we may say the same: In the midst of a spiritual famine, in a drought, we may experience what the prophet Hosea said:

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the Words of the LORD." [Am 8.11]

I believe these are the days spoken of by the prophets - a hunger for the pure, true Word of God.

Hear me! When God led out His people, thru Moses at that time, He had taken care and made sure that all those who killed the Lamb, those who were obedient and went out, did not lack anything. God took care for them. We can say the same in these days! No one who trusts the Lord and obediently follows to go the way of God will be put to shame. Quite the contrary, on the way of God we will experience the miracles of God – the longer the more, for there our trust in Him grows, and the connection and fellowship with Him becomes deeper and more glorious.

There is another Word in Nehemiah in the 9th chapter verse 19:

"Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go. Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst. Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not." [Neh 9.19-21]

What a wonderful Word! The point is that God does not abandon or fail His own, yes, those who listen to His call, follow Him, allow themselves to be led out. Be honest now: How many can believe straight away that people, especially in the desert, who did not walk on a prepared way or on a pavement, but walked across country for 40 years, having the same shoes on, wearing the same suit, the same dress, and nothing worn out, nothing has waxed old? Is that not a miracle? God is able to do all things, whether earthly or spiritual. If He wants it, then it happens. When did it happen? With whom did it happen? With the redeemed of the Lord, with those who have heard the prophetic message, who have recognised the hour of their divine visitation.

I tell you, I have come to appreciate with more gratitude the whole thing that God is doing in our days. And we should all become more thankful.

Let's move on to the rest of the scriptures. 2nd Chronicles 18th chapter, a very familiar Word to all of us. There was Micah a prophet of the Lord, but there was also Jehoshaphat, a God-fearing king, the king of Judah. When 400 prophesied, he did not trust them and asked:

"Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?"[2Ch 18.6]

Everone can read about that in chapter 18. I'll come to chapter 20 verse 5 in a minute, it says:

"And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?" [2Ch 20.5-6]

Amen. "And no one is able to withstand thee." Josephat had experienced it. He had an inner resistance when the 400 prophets prophesied, whom a lying spirit had come upon. And Josephat could not agree with that and then asked Ahab to tell him if there was not another prophet, a prophet of the Lord who has the Word of God - not an idea, not opinion, not interpretation, but the Word of the Lord by revelation.

Hallelujah. Praise be to our God! We don't want a false comfort. We do not want to be fooled, and that in the most pious way. As the people of God we have the right to hear the true Word of God! And we know: The true Word of God can only be preached by the true servants to whom it has been revealed. It then it goes on to say here in verse 14:

"Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation; And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you: Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's." [2Ch 20.14-15]

Hallelujah, praise be to our God!

Against whom did we want to fight? Where would we start, where would we end? Every time when a "Thus saith the Lord" comes, it goes right through our bones and marrow. Because it says here: "Thus says the Lord unto you…" Today God speaks to us and the revealed Word is the "Thus saith the Lord". Amen. From A to Z. It is the testimony of Jesus Christ, our Lord. The promises of God for our day have been revealed in it and for that we are thankful.

"Thus saith the LORD unto you: Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude."

When you see the many evangelists and the multitudes that surround them, and then the little flock and your own humble self, then trembling and hesitation could come. But in the next moment we know that we do not stand alone, that God walks and stands with His own, that it is Him who leads the way in battle. He has not yet lost a battle and will not lose one. Our Lord is the great victor of Golgotha. We can trust in him with all our heart, because we have understood that it is not us who fight, but that it is the Lord who fights.

There is more here. I'll briefly read the last part again:

"… for the battle is not yours, but God's."

Verse 17:

" Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you." [2Ch 20.17]

Praise be to our God! There is no one who can come and say, "I have brought the victory." We watch, but we take our position in reverence before the living God and watch in faith. Faith is a substance, being convinced of things that are not yet seen, but one already sees in faith and in the Spirit [Heb 11:1]. A person who trusts in God and receives the promise that he leads the way in the battle, such a person will not find it difficult to believe that God has already won the victory. Amen! Amen. A person who receives the promise from God: "I will go before you. I will fight for you." Yes, we can already raise our hands and say: "Faithful God, give thanks for the mighty victory you have already given us by your grace!" This is the trust that must grow in us in these days.

I say it once again: When one sees and hears so many and looks at the masses, one might become worried. But deep in the heart a self-examination takes place. You take the Scriptures and say: "Lord, where do I stand, where do I walk? What is the spiritual condition of the church and so on?"

One thing we may gratefully say with ultimate certainty is that God has revealed His Word and His will to us. Yes, we may sing, "Thou hast revealed Thyself unto me in great love." The revelation of Jesus Christ can nowhere be heard or found. And by this we know that God has loved us: that we may believe his Word from the heart. And he says, "I will also love you and reveal myself to you." [Jn 14:21] If the Lord cannot reveal Himself to a person as the One who He really is, then there is a justified question whether men have met Him, really met Him.

I was shocked when this man, who is part Jewish and part of Italian descent, made a hobby out of crystallising the three persons within the Godhead and then thanking each in turn. Oh, what went on there in my heart! One could see, one could hear that the mind, the reasoning wants to master the things.

How grateful can we be that we have learned not to approach God and spiritual things with the mind and reasoning, but to step onto the divine ground of revelation! And here we are like Moses:

"And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground." [Ex 3.5]

Let's read on. Here in verse 17, 2nd part:

"Fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you." [2Ch 20.17]

We come in a moment straight to a very wonderful Word, "… for the Lord will be with you." When He is with us, all goes well. Even in the valley of darkness everything turns to good and in the midst of darkness the light comes to us.

Now I read 2 Chronicles 20 from verse 20:

"And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper!" [2Ch 20.20]

Amen! This too is God's holy Word. Not "in a prophet", [but] "in his prophets". Men of God who have become a mouthpiece of God, who really have nothing of their own to present. "Believe in the LORD your God!"

Let me here say this: If we really put all our trust in the Lord God, then we will come to know when he sends a prophet and will we will receive the Word and the message he brings with all our heart. Then all the scribes, scholars of the land may come and say, "Beware of false prophets!"  [Mt 7:15] And there we can agree with them with a strong „Amen!“ and only say: „The same we wish you also, and we can only say to you, »Beware of false prophets.«"

But where is it written, "Beware of the true prophets"?! It is not written. Of the true prophets it is written… I will read it:

"Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper."

Someone may say, "Isn't that dangerous?" Not at all. What is dangerous is to trust the scribes and in Pharisees and self-appointed preachers, but not a prophet sent and set by God, and appointed, and confirmed, legitimised by him! Him we can believe. For the Lord said, "I will send you prophets, some of whom you will kill and others you will persecute." [Mt 23:34] But we agree with those who warn and can say loud and clear: "Beware of all the false prophets."

In the same way, we can say that God promised to send a prophet "before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes." [Mal 4:5] And then the false prophets came and said, "Oh, be careful! Oh, beware!“ and so on and so forth. No, we can … and this we don't say that out of arrogance, but by His grace we can discern.

Now someone may say: "Yes, why can't the others discern?" The discernment is not in you and not in me and not in the others. The measuring rod is the Word of God!

And I can show you following from the Scriptures: Even when prophets announce something, but then present other gods, God only wants to test us to see if we believe and trust Him, the only true God. Deuteronomy 13 from verse 1:

"What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it." [Deu 12.32]

On what Scripture does this Word of God remind us of?  Of Revelation 22, that we must not add to or take away from the words of the prophecy of this book. Verse 2 states:

"If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them…" [Deu 13.1-2]

Did you hear?

"… Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and us serve them, thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him." [Deu 13.3-4]

Here again we have a key passage in the Bible, for it does not say: "And ye shall walk after a prophet…", but … I read it again, "Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him."

True prophets do not have followers! True prophets prepare the way for the Lord and people come to follow the Lord! Is that right? Amen. Amen. I can tell you who has followers, the false prophets - they have followers. The true prophets bring the people in connection with God. But we see here the admonition here that even when miracles and signs are announced and then even come to pass, then this is a test. And I tell you, if you watch there in a meeting in which nothing has happened but it was reported of something, and the question comes up. "What do people aim to achieve with it?" Namely, that one looks up to them. And they present themselves as men sent from God.

No, a true prophet of God will do as John the Baptist did and other men of God. They will bring people to follow the Lord and they will proclaim the Word of God with truthfulness. I am thankful to the Lord that in the Scriptures have been recorded many examples so that today we can discern.

You are all familiar with Matthew 7 from verse 21. There it is written:

"On that day many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." [Mt 7.23]

Then a whole register is listed and the Lord speaks:

"I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

And then we come to what Paul and Peter have set forth in the New Testament. 2nd Timothy chapter 3. Here it lists the general condition of the last days and then it says from verse 7, 2nd Timothy 3 from verse 7:

"… ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was." [2Tm 3.7-9]

Jannes and Jambres came on the scene where Moses, the prophet of God, had appeared. Where the true, genuine was brought, also the false appeared. And one has to experience this personaly to be able to put yourself in that time.

The keyword here is:

"Now as then Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth."

Not even "against the man", for they came to know when he brought the truth as it was confirmed by God himself. They just ignored it – the truth about the Godhead, about baptism, about the Lord's Supper, all the fundamental truths of the Holy Scriptures, they ignored and denied. And they preach a gospel after which every listener's ears  are itching [2Tm 4:3]. One could almost watch them move their fingers, because it is itching, and they have to help a little bit there.

And then, when the Word is preached in truth, and they say the least thing, they point to miracles and signs. Some will still have to wonder and think about their signs. The measuring rod, and the Word by which all must be measured, is the Holy Scriptures.

Let me read you something else. From 2nd Peter, chapter 2. Here the apostle Peter foretold the last days and writes as follows:

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of." [2Pt 2.1-2]

Verse 3, listen carefully:

"And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not." [2Pt 2.3]

You should once experience 40 to 45 minutes where only money is talked about. Who gives 15,000, who gives 10,000, 5,000? And it went on and on, and on and on. And then it came to the point. Whoever didn't have money, write a cheque, and whoever didn't have a cheque, give the bank details. You will not believe it, one day 30,000 British pounds come together in one day. That's exactly 90,000 Deutschmarks and it's not enough.

More money is collected, and the drum is beaten. The tear gland is pressed. Everything is played out, big programmes. And people give their last. They are made poor for a whole year.

Here it is written:

"And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you."

It is really beyond belief what is going on there. Not once in a meeting has the Holy Scripture been read. One does not need to be surprised about that anymore.

No, once again I say today: Thanks be to God, who has revealed his Word to us and made his will be known to us. We believe that the days of the apostles has returned. No apostle needs to beg or plead for money. The believers have brought to their feet what was necessary, and Brother Branham says in a sermon, "If I should beg for money, I would preach no more." And he said, "Hear me, God will call you to account, you who make business with your gifts and services at the last judgment."

Here on earth we may get away with some things. But then no more.

The same Peter writes here in the same chapter - 2nd Peter, chapter 2, verse 15, yes, maybe already from verse 13 or 14:

"Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness." [2Pt 2.14-15]

In the Epistle of Jude we can read:

"Who departed with the rewards of divination in their hand." [Nu 22.7; Ju 1:11]

There are true servants of God and there are false ones. A true servant of God will trust the Lord for all that is necessary and will not speak to any man about it. We stand in God's matter, and He has provided to this day and will provide for eternity.

I say it here for the third or fourth time today: God has made me more grateful in the past weeks and days, has subjected me to self-examination. And I could say with a grateful heart, "What a privilege it is to serve you, the living God with all my heart and soul, without thinking of myself, but standing by the cause of God."

Of course, we have not only made this observation, but we see that the one and the other cannot help the way they walk. It becomes apparent whose spiritual children we are.

Let us summarise: When God intends to do something on earth, then he reveals his secret to his servants, the prophets. He had a Noah, a Moses, an Abraham, an Elijah. He had many, a John the Baptist. He had John on the Isle of Patmos. He has sent his servants early and late [Jr 25:4]. Those who are then called out by him enter into a covenant relationship with him. He makes a covenant with us. Yes, he made that at Calvary.

He said, "This is the new covenant in my blood." [Lk 22:20] We have a new covenant with all the promises, all the assurances. And that includes the prophetic part. All those who are led out by God may experience that God will not let them starve, not even in the wilderness. That God feeds them, that God gives them drink, that He clothes them from head to foot. They may experience the faithfulness of God! Whether our journey should last ten, twenty, thirty, forty or more years, the Lord has promised to be with us all the days until the end of the world [Mt 28:20]. He has promised, "I will not leave you nor forsake you." [Jn 14:18]

To this day He has kept His Word! Hallelujah! To this day He has provided for us abundantly in a fatherly way. We have received spiritual food, strong food, fresh living manna from God. I was in this room early today and I looked at the table with books, how many sermons are there available? How we can delve into that and keep eating and being strengthened in the inward man? [Eph 3:16] God has provided, abundantly and fatherly provided. It is nothing stale, nothing obsolete, but appointed for this time by God and revealed to His people through the message of this hour. For this, too, we are grateful with all our hearts. Now we can discern and take our stand. The Lord said:

"For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind." [Jn 9.39]

What was it?

The scribes thought they saw, they heard, etc., but they did not. Today I give you the key - it is the key of the Word. All who listen to the false prophet's teaching and believe it and remain in it they will reject the prophets sent from God and be against them. It is the same in reverse. All those who are pardoned by God and received the prophetic Word into our time and let it become a divine revelation in their hearts, they are on the side of God and must reject what the false prophet, all the false prophets proclaim. For the one excludes the other. You cannot mix divine things.

The Lord separated the light from the darkness and gave the name "day" to the light and the name "night" to the darkness [1M 1:4-5].

And Peter writes, "Ye are not in darkness." [1Pt 2:9] Paul also writes it also: "Ye are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. No, you have become children of light." [1Te 5:4-5]

And Jesus said, "Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you." [Jn 12.35]

It was to become light in the evening time, and it has become light.

Peter set it forth: "We have also a more sure Word of prophecy; … that shineth in a dark place." [2Pt 1.19]

So, God sends his servants and prophets, and requires his people to come out. And then the message comes with all power, "Let my people go, that they may serve me." [Ex 10:3] We cannot stay behind, in all the various camps, and then serve God. No, the Lord determined a place: It was the mountain that he had determined. And you all know, when the people arrived at Mount Sinai, God spoke with them in a very powerful way. After leading out, we are brought together with God. We hear his precious and holy Word, and we respond to it. We take to heart what he has said to us and then we walk on by faith.

"Let my people go, the people with whom God has made a covenant." [Ps 50:5]

As we read at the beginning:

"Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." [Am 3.7]

Beloved, I am thankful to God, grateful from the bottom of my heart, that He has proved Himself to be the same in this time, to the sorrow of the scribes and Pharisees, to the joy for the blood-bought multitude, to the joy of the redeemed and elect, for when they hear God's Word, then their heart rejoices and exults. Then, like Mary and Zechariah, they can praise and extol the Lord in Spirit. Also like the children when the Lord entered Jerusalem: "Hosanna to him who comes in the name of the Lord!" [Jn 12:12-13]

There is one thing I would like to say on this occasion, perhaps even for the best. There was a Negro brother in America who preached on the event of our Lord's entry into Jerusalem on a donkey's colt. Then he made a comparison and said: "The Lord God, was riding on a donkey, as he has used a servant to bring a Word from the Lord.“ Then he came out with it and said, "The donkey would have been mistaken, if he had thought the jubilation was meant for him." Did you all listen well? There was a great cheer. But the donkey should not have thought that the rejoicing now belonged to him.

So, even if God uses the greatest men, the praise and the worship and the glory belong to none that the Lord used. He said, "The Lord has need of her (or him) and will send her back shortly." [Mt 21:2-3] Praise belongs in all things to our Lord. And there too we can make a clear distinction: Thankful are we for all the servants and prophets whom the Lord used, whom he could so wonderfully use for himself, but praise and worship belong to our God from eternity to eternity.

We do not wish to be called by any man the „followers of Paul or Peter“, nor by anyone „the followers of Branham“. For truly there are no such people in our midst. Here are only people who follow the Lord and are grateful for every ministry God has given by grace. Amen? Amen. And we are also thankful that God has given us this discernment.

I hope that in this hour we have become more grateful, more thankful for what God has given to us and that it has remained with us in all clarity. And I have this confidence in God: He will preserve us in this divine clarity until the end. He knows our longing. He holds us fast, saying:

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." [Jn 10.28-29]

Praised and blessed be the glorious name of our Lord. Amen.

Let us stand upmand give thanks to the Lord.

… He has let us know through whom he has spoken, yes, who has brought his Word to restore us to the original state in which the Church was at the beginning. And to thus set the condition for restoration in this way. He has given us grace to take in hidden manna and we may discern between what men do in pious programmes and that what God is now doing among His people according to His Word and His plan. We have heard his call. We believe him and his prophets, not just „any prophet“, but „his prophets“ who have known him in truth, who have preached his Word in truth. We have inner agreement to it.

Should there still be some in our midst today who have not yet come to complete breakthrough, who have not yet come to absolute clarity, dear heart, what more shall God still do to make it clearer and more true? What more shall he do and confirm before we will believe it? He who came down in the cloud and pillar of fire, in the light, spoke and brought us back to himself - he is here today and speaks to every heart.

We are not dealing with a man, as we have read. We are not following a prophet, not a preacher, not some evangelist. Lord, we have come to followed you. You say even today, "Follow me." You did not tell anyone to follow Peter or Paul. You said: "Follow me."

Faithful Lord, we ask you now together that you still come to the aid of all who are in inner struggle to make the right decision. Believing you should be easy, for you are trustworthy. We thank you for this.

Your Word is clear to those to whom you have revealed it. Together we lay them before you. Yes, all of us who are here today and all who will hear this tape, whether here in Switzerland, whether in the Germany, whether in Austria, wherever the tapes may come. Lord, you know your own. Be nigh to them. Tell them> "I take care for you. I am with you. You will not lack anything. Neither food nor drink. I am in your midst. Follow me."

Oh, faithful God, we are joined with everyone through whom you have spoken, by your Word and by your Spirit. We have been brought into agreement with your Word. Lord, we thank you for it. May it be confirmed now, today, at this place, that you are still the same and your Word does not return void.

Save the lost, grab them in the deepest of their souls, O Lord, pull them out like a wood out of the fire. Heal the sick, reveal to them that they were healed already when you were beaten and bruised on the cross.

Lord, for our sin you have shed your blood to redeem us, to reconcile us and to give us forgiveness. You were smitten and bruised on your body to bear our sickness, so that we might be healed by your stripes. Lord, we thank you for it! May a living faith in the living God now be manifested and the right hand of the Lord give victory to the people of God. Hallelujah!

Lord, and even more: All who are in doubt, who are tossed to and fro by all kinds of talk that spread like a cancer, destroying and disfiguring people inwardly and outwardly. Beloved Lord, may you have mercy on your people and give them a circumcised tongue, O Lord, so that, we are penetrated by your divine fire, and proclaim the great deeds of God. Faithful Lord, from the depths of our souls, and with deep gratitude, we are here today thanking you for the great privilege that we have not fallen prey to any man's deception and deceit, but that we have heard your true and clear Word from a holy mouth, inspired by the Holy Spirit. Lord, we give you thanks together from our hearts in Jesus' holy name.

And all the people say, Amen. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. Praise be to our God …
