“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”(Heb 13:8)
Circular letter JUNE 1971
I greet you very warmly with the Scripture from Psalm 89:7:
“God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.”
To the glory of the Lord we can say many dear children of God have come to believe the preaching of the revealed Word. The arm of the Lord has been revealed unto them because God has led them out of the modern Babylon of this time by His mighty hand. God’s Word has not returned void but it has accomplished what it has been sent for. The Lord has remembered his promises and he has accomplished what he foretold through the mouths of His holy servants and prophets long time ago.
Based on what God promised in Amos 8:1, a great spiritual famine appeared in the midst of God's people. This is similar to the famine at the time of Joseph when he was in Egypt. In Genesis 41:56 we read that “Joseph opened all the storehouses…” At the time God took care to make sure that His people did not die during the famine. He acted with Joseph in a special way when he had commanded him to fill the storehouses before the famine struck. Joseph was a spiritual man but he first had to follow a difficult way. His brothers hated him he was cast into a pit and he was sold. He had to go through these difficult trials but God was with him. Through revelation it was shown to him that there will be seven years with the rich harvest followed by 7 years of drought. When the revelation came true, his brothers came to him to buy wheat. They hated him to death and got rid of him because they did know his commission.
The ways of true servants of God were difficult to understand for many brethren especially after they were equipped by God with extraordinary spiritual gifts. As there is a wonderful similarity between the times of Joseph and our time, we simply have to mention it. The prophetic Word makes references to spiritual famine as we've just mentioned it. It was right at the time of the famine when the brothers found their way to Joseph without even knowing or wanting it. From his hand they then received food – he showed his great love for them. When he made himself known to them, they were deeply moved by that and they were helpless so he comforted them with these words from Genesis 45:5, 8: “Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life … So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God…”
How wonderful it is when we look at God’s ways with His people. His servants are going through many misunderstanding because through them God’s intention is fulfilled. The whole history of salvation gives witness that God has always stood by His servants and prophets. He has always been very close to them and He was able to reveal His will to them. We are filled with great joy and thankfulness to God when we imagine that God the Lord gave His commission to our beloved brother Branham in a vision to store in the food. It is not a religious wish or just something fabricated, but Thus saith the Lord. God was ready to send famine upon His people according to His prophetic word but before the famine could struck God had taken care that the food was put in store. According to God's revelation brother Brennan knew which promises of the prophetic Word were given for our time. As Joseph had the responsibility to store in natural food so that the blessed ones of the Lord did not die during the general famine, so the Lord again took care that the blessed of the Lord were preserved during the time of the spiritual fame in through the Word of life.
We are now in the time of spiritual famine and nobody can change it and nobody should carelessly tell lies about it. Jesus himself said that man would not live on bread alone but on every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. This spiritual hunger cannot be satisfied through human interpretations of the Scripture but only through the Word of God which is our spiritual food. Nobody should say “I am full and I don't need anything…” but we should all ask God to make us hungry for His Word unless it is the case with us. The holy Scripture says: “Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent…” In Revelation 3:1-2 we read: “I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die.”
We simply have to be sure that nobody can stop the course of the plan of salvation. It doesn't matter any longer what this or that person says, what matters is what God has said. We are standing amid God's plan of salvation coming true. God will not be hindered, He will lead His work to completion and He will accomplish it for the glory of His name. We are very grateful to God that we can now, in the time of spiritual famine, open God’s store and draw from the rich fullness of His revealed Word.
