1. Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

2. Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

3. [3] Nous devons à votre sujet, frères, rendre continuellement grâces à Dieu, comme cela est juste, parce que votre foi fait de grands progrès, et que la charité de chacun de vous tous à l'égard des autres augmente de plus en plus.

4. [4] Aussi nous glorifions-nous de vous dans les Eglises de Dieu, à cause de votre persévérance et de votre foi au milieu de toutes vos persécutions et des tribulations que vous avez à supporter.

4. So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

5. Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

6. Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7. And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

8. In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8. [8] au milieu d'une flamme de feu, pour punir ceux qui ne connaissent pas Dieu et ceux qui n'obéissent pas à l'Evangile de notre Seigneur Jésus.

9. Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

10. When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

11. [11] C'est pourquoi aussi nous prions continuellement pour vous, afin que notre Dieu vous juge dignes de la vocation, et qu'il accomplisse par sa puissance tous les desseins bienveillants de sa bonté, et l'oeuvre de votre foi,

11. [11] Daarom bid ons ook altyd vir julle dat onse God julle die roeping waardig mag ag, en dat Hy alle welgevalle aan wat goed is, en alle werk van die geloof met krag volkome mag maak,

11. Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

11. [11] Tým cieľom sa aj vždycky modlíme za vás, že by vás náš Bôh učinil hodnými toho povolania a naplnil každou záľubou na dobrotivosti a skutkom viery v moci,

12. That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

12. [12] aby bolo oslávené meno našeho Pána Ježiša Krista vo vás a vy v ňom podľa milosti nášho Boha a Pána Ježiša Krista.

12. [12] Hogy dicsőíttessék meg a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztusnak neve ti bennetek, és ti [is] ő benne, a mi Istenünknek és az Úr Jézus Krisztusnak kegyelméből.

12. [12] sodat die Naam van onse Here Jesus Christus in julle verheerlik kan word en julle in Hom, ooreenkomstig die genade van onse God en die Here Jesus Christus.

12. [12] pour que le nom de notre Seigneur Jésus soit glorifié en vous, et que vous soyez glorifiés en lui, selon la grâce de notre Dieu et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ.
